About these terms
These terms apply when you use the Ghar Ka Tiffin website at https://gharkatiffin.food or the Ghar Ka Tiffin app to order meals, subscribe to a meal plan or hold one of our lunch boxes. Ghar Ka Tiffin is a home-style kitchen in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, India, referred to here as “we” or “us”.
By creating an account or placing an order you agree to these terms, to our privacy policy, our refund and cancellation policy and our lunch box deposit policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Who can use the service
You must be at least 18 years old, have an Indian mobile number and have a delivery address inside the area we serve. The app checks your address before you order. You may order meals for other people, such as family members, but the account and its payments remain your responsibility.
Your account
You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code we send by SMS. Keep your phone and the codes to yourself: anything done in your account is treated as done by you. Tell us if you change your number.
We may suspend or close an account that is used for fraud, abuse of our staff, repeated unpaid dues or any unlawful purpose. Money you have already paid for meals that are not delivered is then handled as our refund and cancellation policy says.
Menu, prices and orders
The menu, prices, delivery charges, the lunch box deposit and any offer are shown in the app before you pay, each on its own line. Prices are worked out by our system when you check out. If a price changes before you pay, we show you the new price and charge nothing until you confirm it.
An order is confirmed only when our payment provider tells us it is paid, or, for an order paid in cash, when we accept it. Each day the kitchen cooks a limited number of meals, and dishes depend on fresh ingredients, so we may decline an order. If we do, you are not charged, or you are refunded in full.
Cutoff times
Orders and changes, such as skipping a meal, pausing a plan, adding an extra or choosing a dish, must be made before the cutoff time the app shows for that meal. After the cutoff the kitchen has started preparing the meal and it can no longer be changed in the app.
Meal plans
A plan is a cycle of a set number of delivery days for lunch, dinner or both, paid for in advance. The app shows the days covered and the date the plan is paid until.
You can skip a meal or pause a plan before the cutoff, within the pause limit the app shows. A skipped or paused meal is not lost: the plan is extended by that meal. Days on which the kitchen is closed are added to the end of your plan in the same way.
Where the menu offers a choice, you can choose your dish before the choice closes. If you do not choose, you receive the kitchen’s regular dish for that day.
Before a cycle ends we remind you to pay for the next one. Depending on how long you have been subscribed, a grace period may apply: meals keep coming during it and each one is added to what you owe. If the next cycle is not paid by the end of the grace period, the plan ends.
Delivery
We deliver within the delivery window the app shows for each meal. Times are a guide, and traffic, weather or other events outside our control may cause delays.
Please make sure someone is available to receive the meal. If nobody is, the delivery person may leave the meal at your door, which counts as delivered, or try again later in the same round. A meal that cannot be delivered because nobody was available or the address was wrong is not refunded.
We may close the kitchen on some days, such as festivals. We tell you in advance, and plan meals on those days are moved to the end of your plan.
Lunch boxes
Meals come in our reusable glass lunch boxes, against a refundable deposit. Please hand back the empty box at your next delivery. Our lunch box deposit policy explains how the deposit, returns, damaged boxes and refunds of the deposit work.
Payments
Online payments are handled by our payment partner, Razorpay, by card, UPI, net banking or the other methods it offers. We never see or store your card or UPI details.
Where cash or UPI on delivery is allowed, the amount owed is paid in full to the delivery person or to us, and it is recorded against your account. Anything you owe, such as additional meals or meals delivered during a grace period, must be settled before a new plan or a refund of your deposit.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancelling orders and plans, credit and refunds are covered by our refund and cancellation policy.
Food safety and allergies
Our kitchen is registered with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). Our dishes may contain, or be prepared alongside, common allergens such as milk, wheat (gluten), nuts, peanuts, mustard, sesame and soy. If you have an allergy or a dietary need, read the dish details and call us before you order. We cannot guarantee that any dish is free of an allergen.
Our food is cooked fresh for each meal and is best eaten soon after delivery. Once delivered, please keep it covered and eat it within a few hours. We are not responsible for food that is kept or reheated after delivery in a way that makes it unsafe.
Using the service fairly
Please do not place false orders, misuse offers, mistreat our kitchen or delivery staff, or try to interfere with the website, the app or our systems.
Our responsibility
We take care to cook and deliver every meal well. If something goes wrong because of us, our responsibility for an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not responsible for losses that could not reasonably be foreseen, or for delays and failures caused by events outside our control, such as extreme weather, strikes, road closures, power or network failures, or orders by the authorities.
Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or any other law that protects you.
Changes to the service and these terms
We may change the menu, prices, delivery area or these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. We tell you about an important change in the app or by SMS before it applies to you. A price change applies to a plan from its next cycle, and the app shows it before you pay.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. We will first try to settle any disagreement with you directly. If that does not work, the courts at Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh have jurisdiction, without limiting your right to approach a consumer commission.
Dish photos
Some dish photos in the app and on the website are illustrations of the dish from Wikimedia Commons, not photos of the meal we deliver. We are replacing them with photos of our own food. The credits and licences are below.
